Description: As an SLP, I have noticed a lack of materials for articulation/phonology/apraxia in Spanish. Finding materials in CVC in Spanish can be a real challenge, so I made a deck of 50 Spanish CVC words. CVC words can be challenging for students because they are closed syllables. In Spanish only 5 consonants can be in the final word position: s, n, l, r, d. In this deck, those 5 consonants will be targeted in the word final position to help students who have the phonological process of final consonant deletion or student who have apraxia and need support working on the movement patterns in CVC. There is an audio clip of each word as well. - 15 /s/ final CVC words -13 /n/ final CVC words - 10 /l/ final CVC words - 10 /r/ final CVC words - 2 /d/ final CVC words (most words ending in "d" are multisyllabic words such as "felicidad," "multitud," "ciudad") - Additionally in Spanish some words that may seem like CVC are not, such as "buen" because in Spanish it is pronounced "bwen." As a result, when probing in Spanish and using other words beyond the list, take careful care of whether you are assessing CVC or possibly adding the complexity of a cluster. - However, this deck does include dipthongs in the words selected
