Description: Choose the /air/ /ire/ /ear/ pond or the /er/ /or/ /ar/ pond. Then say the word and sort into the right pond. This is a great activity for auditory discrimination and phonemic awareness as well as articulation practice for vocalic r. Students will sort by the sound they hear and not the spelling. Thus "bear" will go into the "air" pond and "fear" will go into the "ear" pond.
