Description: Introduce your students to right angle Trigonometry with this introduction to the tangent ratio mini lesson. Students will work through a series of questions determining that the ratios of triangles with the same perspective angle are equal. As the activity progresses students will be asked to find the missing side length and missing angle of triangles using the tangent ratio opposite/adjacent. Students will round side lengths to 1 decimal and angles to the nearest whole number. Remind students to put their calculator in DEG mode. PRODUCT INCLUDES: 17 slides total Slide 1-4: tangent ratio of 45 degree triangles Slide 5-8: tangent ratios of 30 degree triangles slide 9: formula slide 10-11: use tangent ratio to calculate missing "opposite" side slide 12-13: use tangent ratio to calculate the missing "adjacent" side slide 14-16: calculate the missing angle using the inverse tangent ratio slide 17: You did it!
