Description: Little Lang Learners is an informal screener designed to assess students from 3-8 years of age. This language screener checks oral receptive (understanding, memory) and oral expressive (answering questions, grammar/syntax rules) language skills. It can give you a basic understanding of a student's early sentence structures (SVO), use of conjunctions, pronouns, irregular past tense, irregular plurals and much more. It was designed to be completed in a quiet 1-on-1 session by a speech-language pathologist or a classroom teacher to check early oral language. Each page has a picture and four questions of increasing difficulty (based on Blank's questions). Note this deck is intended to be used with the FREE Language Screener score sheet also available in our shop. The deck includes: -10 colourful pictures with 4 questions each (1 being easiest and 4 being hardest) (40 q's total) -Animated questions marks to add an element of interactivity to an otherwise dry screener. -The accompanying score sheet has: +Rubric for marking child's response +Information and grammar scores, & age appropriate comparison table +1-4 levels of blank's questions +Appendix tables for expected age of acquisition of pronouns, syntax/grammar rules (based on Brown's MLU's).
