Description: Carnival talk targets topic maintenance. Read what each person on the left is saying and then read the response from the person on the right. Have the student decide whether the response is "on topic" or "off topic" and click the correct button. Extension activities include trying this in role play situations in group to have the students experience it first hand. You could also have the students give a correct response or even generate multiple "on topic" responses.
