Description

Teaching emotions can be tricky! So grab these boom cards for your next social/emotional lesson. This identifying emotions activity is so great for students struggling with the social skills topic of emotions. The fun dog theme will keep students engaged while learning about and identifying the six emotions in this activity - happy, sad, angry, scared, confused, and worried. Students are shown the different facial features that come with each emotion. Then there are 18 task cards where students are shown two faces and are asked to indicate the face that is showing the asked about emotion. For an additional level of support, students who need it are able to listen to the text on each slide. These boom cards can be used in so many different settings. They can be used in a whole group setting to talk about the different emotions and facial features that indicate them. Additionally, this activity would be wonderful in a small social skills group for students who need a bit more practice. They could also be assigned for independent work during centers or as an assessment to see how well a student is able to identify these emotions on a dog’s face. The cards automatically shuffle so this deck can be used again and again. And because this deck is self checking, it provides instant feedback.
