Description
Word problems can be a challenging concept for many students. These one-step word problems are broken down into 3 steps in order to facilitate independence in students choosing the correct operation to correctly solve a problem. Step 1 - Students will listen to the word problem and complete a bar model (tape diagram) to match the problem. Step 2 - Students will look at the bar model and determine if they need to add or subtract. Step 3 - Students will use a number sentence to show their work. This is an open ended equation as there are multiple ways to solve a problem. Students will then type their answer in order to check their work. This deck includes 10 winter word problems involving adding or subtracting numbers within 10. Each problem is broken down into 3 steps (3 cards per problem) for a total of 30 cards. Each card provides the word problem with audio as well as audio of all directions.
