Description: This deck helps kids learn the spelling rule for choosing -GE or the digraph -DGE at the end of words. The first card teaches the spelling rule, and then there are three different types of activities to provide lots of practice. Each activity is slightly more challenging than the previous one, so the deck is not randomized. Audio support is provided for all pictures and instructions. This deck is a great supplement to your phonics, spelling, word work or Orton-Gillingham curriculum, and it would be great for literacy centers too! How it Works: 1) Click and Choose (21 cards): Kids see a picture and hear the word, then they must click the correct spelling 2) Find & Click (2 cards): On one card, students must click all pictures of words containing -GE, and on the next, all pictures with -DGE. 3) Spelling (21 cards) -- This is the most difficult of the three activities. Students hear a word and see a picture then must spell the word. Good to Know: Most words have one syllable only, but there are a few two-syllable words (badger, hedgehog, plunger). Syllable types contained include closed (short vowel sound), Silent E, R-controlled. If you'd rather avoid any of these, you can easily hide those cards.
