Description
This 29 card Halloween Around the World Scavenger Hunt that will teach students about Halloween (or similar) celebrations that happen around the world. While completing the hunt, students will learn about Walpurgisnacht, where the first Halloween celebration took place in France, why Halloween celebrations are not encouraged in Russia, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 14 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a short passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting facts they learned from the hunt. This activity could be used as a Halloween activity, a study of holidays around the world, as a social studies or reading center, or as an easy activity for a sub.
