Description
This 33-card Scavenger Hunt that can teach your students (or let them review) the Underground Railroad that help slaves escape to freedom in America in the 1800s. While completing the hunt, students will learn how the railroad began, how it was kept a secret, who worked on it and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 16 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information to answer it is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the information to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about the Underground Railroad. It can be used as a Black History Month activity, to supplement a study of U. S. History or the Civil War, to provide background information for a story, to practice r reading informational text, as a history or reading center, or as an easy activity for a sub.
