Description: This lesson for the copular verb, also known as the linking verb to be ( Is and Are ) will teach your students sentence building for the verb To Be in the present tense when used with objects. This 67 card deck specifically focuses on the use of the verbs Is and Are in simple sentence structure . Deck #2 focuses on the verb to be with subjects. I teach this skill in steps so that it is slowly stabilized over the course of the deck. I geared art work for the older students who may not have mastered this rudimentary skill yet need more practice. I use mature art work due to age. Your students will receive a 67 card deck with 40 fill in the blank prompts, 24 multiple choice prompts, and 39 open-ended prompts- the last 9 of which will provide you with an informal assessment of this skill.
