Description: Target the LIFE SKILLS goal of FOOD PREP and SELECTING INGREDIENTS for a RECIPE. Helping clients and students with ADLs (activities of daily living) is so important. It can increase their independence and self-confidence. This deck includes 44 slides with 10 different dishes. Each dish has 4 slides which offer differing cue levels. At the end, see how many more dishes you can make with the given ingredients. I hope this activity adds a little bit of joy to your sessions! (The Boom cards are not interactive. It would only be functional for one of the 4 slides per dish and even with this 4th slide, it wouldn't be exact because maybe you don't add mayo to your tuna salad!) Boom is just a great place to access and store your materials. Each slide needs to be advanced by clicking your right arrow button on your keyboard.) Possible Goals -Identify foods: Point to the... -Name/label foods: What is this? -Answer yes/no questions: Does this dish need a banana? -Express opinions: Do you like bananas? -Tell of a past event: I made tuna yesterday. -Problem solve: What happens if you run out of lettuce? -Make predictions: What will happen if we add too much cheese? -Answer WH questions: When do you eat cereal? Who cooks at your house? What do you like to put on bagels? Where can you buy cereal? These dishes are at a very basic level. Dishes with more complexity coming soon!
