Conversation Map: Asking Questions & Keeping Conversations Going | Middle School and High School Help students become confident with having conversations with a Conversation Map, an engaging Boom Cards™ deck designed to teach students how to ask relevant questions and keep conversations going. This resource provides explicit instruction and scaffolded practice for one of the most challenging pragmatic language skills—reciprocal conversation. I made this product for my students that struggle with having successful conversations. I find that my students need lots of repetition and practice using role plays. This resource provides visuals to help the students formulate questions to ask. What is included: 5 teaching cards introducing the Conversation Map strategy 25 elementary conversation prompt cards featuring realistic peer statements Interactive Conversation Map and Conversation Starters pull-out tabs for visual scaffolding and support How to use: Present each conversation scenario to the student(s). Have the student(s) brainstorm questions to ask to start a conversation. Then have the student(s) role play asking the question(s). The speech therapist can challenge the student(s) by role playing the part of the conversation partner. There are 25 conversation scenarios to use.
