Description
This deck is designed to be used during speech-language therapy sessions and focuses on the phonological process of fronting or backing of the Y and N sounds. Since I have a new student who substitutes /n/ for /j/, I had to create a deck targeting these sounds. Minimal pairs and easy sentences are included in this deck. Students will quickly understand the concept of fronting or backing issues as they go through the words and sentences. You will be surprised at how many productions you get from one session using this deck. This is a great resource to add to your speech-language therapy library. As opposed to just using this deck for drills, I often use this deck in conjunction with board games or other types of hands-on games. Students can now record their voices and determine if they have correctly said their words. This deck supports Common Core State Standards: Speaking and Listening: K SL 6 CC.K.SL.6 Presentation of Knowledge and Ideas: Speak audibly and express thoughts, feelings, and ideas clearly.
