Description

Green Flags vs Red Flags in Friendship is a deck that helps teens work out which friendship behaviours are healthy and which ones are warning signs. This social skills resource supports autistic and neurodivergent students who find friendship rules unclear, confusing, or inconsistent. Scenarios are drawn from real teen life, group chats, lunch tables, sensory needs, plans changing, being teased about a special interest and use neurodiversity affirming, strengths based language throughout, with one scenario per card and low visual clutter. Unlike most friendship resources, this deck teaches both directions. Students don't only practise spotting a red flag and setting a boundary. They also practise what to say when a friend does something kind: how to accept a compliment, thank someone for respecting their need for quiet time, and respond warmly when a friend checks in on them. Recognising and returning green flags is a skill in its own right, and it is one that often gets missed. Skills targeted: - Recognising healthy and unhealthy friendship behaviours - Personal boundaries and self-advocacy - Scripts for saying no, asking for clarification, and asking for space - Responding warmly to kindness, including thanking and complimenting back - Perspective taking and reading intent - Repairing a friendship after a misunderstanding - Self-awareness and written expression
