Description: If your adult ESL students are starting on basic literacy skills, you've probably noticed that most sight word resources available are designed for children. This is different. *cue the sigh of relief* Word recognition is an important step on your adult ESL students' path to literacy. This 80-card sight word sentences deck is perfect to help them review some of the most commonly used words in English. It uses words 201-300 from Fry's sight words list + words from 1-200. Each of the words from 201-300 appears at least once in this deck. ONLY words from the first 300 Fry sight words are in the sentences. In fact, there were only seven words from the 300 that I didn't manage to wrestle into a sentence. With this deck, students will read a sentence and check to see if they got it right by clicking on one of the three sound icons at the top of each card. Your students can choose whether they prefer to hear the sentence spoken slowly, at a normal speed, or quickly by clicking on the appropriate icon. Be sure to check out Deck #4 for the third 100 sight words on Fry's list. It uses these same sentences, but students have to listen and then drag and drop the words in order.
