This engaging 34-slide Boom™ Card deck targets reading comprehension skills for elementary students through a variety of high-interest fiction and non-fiction reading passages organized by grade level. Passages included: 1st grade: The little Penguin. 2nd grade: The Busy Octopus. 3rd grade: The Life of a Butterfly. 4th grade: The Life of a Honeybee. 5th grade: Exploring Volcanic Activity. Each passage includes five (5) follow-up comprehension "wh" questions to strengthen understanding of key details, characters, sequencing, inferencing, and critical thinking skills. 2nd through 5th-grade students can type their answers in the provided field. A review of five (5) Tier 2 vocabulary words per passage, with student-friendly definitions, is provided to support academic language development and vocabulary growth. 1st through 4th-grade stories have a character button to review, and the 5th-grade passage has picture elements. This resource features audio for all content. It is suitable for classroom instruction, literacy centers, individual and/or mixed group speech therapy sessions, special education, homeschool learning, and independent reading practice.
