Description: This activity is a traditional word sort where students will drag a picture and drop it into the correct column to sort by word sound, spelling pattern, and/ or word feature. This can be used as a stand alone sorting activity or as a supplemental activity for any word pattern program including the Words Their Way™ Within Word Pattern Spellers phonics, vocabulary and spelling instruction program. Word feature works with WW Word Sort 44 in the third edition or sort 39 in the second edition. Two additional word sorts for this sound feature are available that focus on spelling and the vowel patterns that determine whether the consonants are hard or soft.
