Description: This activity gives information about Jackie Robinson. It is great lesson during Black History Month. The focus of this activity is to target vocabulary, definitions and synonyms. ***This activity does NOT have pictures. It only has words*** *The vocabulary has definitions included. *Page 3 gives information about Jackie Robinson and some questions to give students perspective. *Page 4 gives students a space to answer some questions related to text. *Page 5 the game begins. -This game includes 5 cards for 5 rounds. -Each card has 11 words and 1 picture of a history book which are covered by cover cards. -Each student will take a turn calling out or moving a numbered card to the red drop box. -If there is a word under the card the student will tell the synonym from the word bank provided. -If there is a picture of a history book, the student wins the round and gets the point. -The student with the most points at the end of the 5th round is the champion. Other ideas for activity use: -create sentences -give other words that mean same or near the same -spell the words -so many other goals may be targeted
