Description: Do you have students that have trouble determining how big or small their problems are? If so, they might often over-react to small things that come up throughout the day. Students need to first identify the size of problems in order to match their reaction appropriately. This easy-to-use deck is a great resource for practicing "size of the problem" with students across ages. Great for social emotional learning and pragmatics! Add another layer to this activity by having your students determine possible solutions. I also like to hear students' thinking and perspectives because in some instances they may argue why the problem could belong in another category, thus working on expressive language and persuasion skills as well. Use it as homework, a group activity, or even to monitor progress toward goals!
