Expanding Utterances: Who, What and Where Questions with Animated Action Verbs (GIFS) Activity

Description: Students are presented with animated verb images (GIFS) in different locations. Students are asked "who" questions and presented with 2 visual choices (e.g. boy vs. girl) and then asked "what" questions such as "what is he/she doing" and given 2 visual choices (e.g. running or eating). Lastly, students are asked "where" questions and given 2 visual choices of places (bedroom or bathroom). After, students are asked to form the sentence. Students are presented with sentence starters such as "The (who) is (doing what) in the (where). Students are presented with 2 choices for each WH question. Students are asked to drag and drop the answer to the WH questions into the colored boxes in the sentence starter. his helps students expand their utterances while answering who, what and where questions. Students are able to form sentences such as the boy is sleeping in the bedroom or the girl is cooking in the kitchen. Some IEP goals that can be targeted during this activity: - Identifying and Labeling Verbs - Wh Questions (who, what, where) - Vocabulary (e.g. places, items in each room or place, etc.) - Object Function (pointing to items in the different locations and asking what do you do with it. For example, what do you do in a bed). - Expanding Utterances/ Sentence formulation
