Description: This boom deck gives independent practice for a very challenging math skill - solving 2 step word problems! This deck includes: -An introduction slide reviewing clue words used in problem solving -10 two-step problems for addition and subtraction -10 hint cards to help student who are "stuck" This deck is designed to provide helpful scaffolding so students can work two-step word problems independently. If a student needs help, there is an "SOS" button that takes them to a slide which helps the student focus on the numbers and clue words used in each question. This guides students to the operation (addition or subtraction) related to each word in the problem. Though this is a 3rd grade standard, it is a tough one so I always start my 4th graders on this deck. If your students are ready for more of a challenge or if they complete this deck early, I recommend my deck: Multi-Step Word Problems Using Addition and Subtraction.
