This is a set of activities and a short story about kindness and caring for others. It gives students practice deciding what actions and choices are kind or unkind. 1 - Students choose the correct definitions for kind and unkind. 2 - Students read examples of personal choices and determine if they show kindness or not. 3 - Students read a short story about a girl who befriends a lonely girl. 4 - Students reflect on the story and write two short responses. 5 - Students read short scenarios and choose kind or unkind. 6 - Students complete if/then statements about what they would do in different situations The story and many of the questions have read-aloud audio. Answers are self-checking when possible. These activities fit in well with character development and SEL lessons.
