Description: The Monkey Path reinforces reading CVC words and short vowel sounds. All decks contain audio directions and prompts on each card. Decks are sequenced to provide students with increasing difficulty. Monkeys 1 thru 5 focus on only one vowel at a time: a, e, i, o, u, respectively. Monkeys 6 and 7 present a mix of vowels. Monkey 6 asks students to sort four words while Monkey 7 presents five words for students to sort (each containing a different vowel). Monkey 1 asks students to sort three short-a words onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 2 asks students to sort three short-o words onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 3 asks students to short three short-u words onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 4 asks students to sort three short-i words onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 5 asks students to sort three short-e words onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 6 asks students to sort four CVC words that contain only a vowel change onto "real" or "silly" sides. Monkey 7 gives students five CVC words to sort onto "real" or "silly" sides. Each word contains a different middle vowel.
