Description: With these listening comprehension activities, teach 5 listening comprehension strategies. These strategies will help instruct your students on how to improve listening skills and language processing. Don't just have your students practice listening comprehension, teach it! Teach listening comprehension strategies. Listening comprehension exercises are included that can facilitate how to improve listening skills and language processing of your students. A story narrative is provided which requires students to listen and create a matching scene by understanding and following implicit directions (embedded within the story). A variety of concepts are addressed, specific grammatical structures, along with vocabulary specific to each activity. *This resource includes an instructional video and a printable visual support of the listening comprehension strategies. After some initial practice with the strategies, your students will listen to the narrative and follow the embedded information to create a matching scene. The narrative information includes 1 and/or 2-part directions with embedded concepts. For learners with difficulty sorting through auditory information, an accommodation provides hints that filter out irrelevant information. *Each activity may take 2-3 sessions to complete, depending on student level, amount of mediated instruction needed, and session length. Bonus: The last card is a fun coastal setting for your student to create!
