Description: Would you like an interesting and engaging way for your students to learn about (or review) the early American cultures of the Mound Builders, Anasazi (cliff dwellers), and the Inuit? If so, this set of Boom Cards can help. Each deck has 23-25 cards. In the Mound builders hunt students will learn how who the Mound Builders were, what kinds of mounds they built and why they built them, what happened to them, and more. In the Anasazi hunt students will learn where the Anasazi lived, why they are called Cliff Dwellers, what they excelled at doing, and more. Then in the Inuit hunt students will learn where what the Mound Builders, Anasazi, and Inuit have in common, what types of housing the Inuit lived in, the difference between mukluks and parkas, and more. In each hunt students are presented 11-12 multiple-choice questions. After they read a question, they read the information that will help them answer the question. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they are redirected to the passage again to find the correct answer. The final card in each hunt challenges students to write 3 interesting facts they learned from the hunt. These hunts can be used to supplement a study of early American cultures, to enhance the understanding of a story, or practice for reading informational text.
