Description: The Snake Path reinforces number sense, counting, and numeral recognition to 10. All cards contain audio prompts and directions. Decks are sequenced to provide students with increasing difficulty. Snakes 1 & 2 are number identification and sequencing. Snakes 3, 4, 5, and 6 are counting quantities and choosing the correct number. Snake 7 is creating a set to match a number between 1 and 5. Snake 1 is about numbers 0 to 5. Snake 2 is about numbers 6 to 10. On some cards, an audio prompt says a number between 0 and 5 and students must choose the correct numeral from three choices. Additional cards require students to find the missing number in a forward or backward sequence of three numbers. Snake 3 is about counting lines of up to 5 pictures and choosing the matching numbers and Snake 4 is up to 10. Number choices are presented sequentially from 0 to 10 in a line. Some picture lines contain no spaces while others have a gap. Snake 5 is also to 10, but numbers are presented randomly in a line. Snake 6 is about counting zigzags or lines of up to 10 pictures and choosing the matching numbers. Number choices are presented in a random keypad orientation. Snake 7 is about creating groups to 5 to match a number. Numbers are not spoken, so students must recognize the numeral. Students drag and drop the correct number of squares to match the presented numeral between 1 and 5.
