Description: Build It! Number Composition & Decomposition 5–9 Bundle gives students interactive practice composing and decomposing numbers 5–9 using a concrete, visual model. These activities are based on the exact way I introduce this foundational number sense skill with my own students: using a concrete-first approach. Students build each target number by moving flat glass marbles onto the two sides of a domino card, helping them visualize all the possible combinations that make the target number. These Boom Cards are designed to support—not replace—hands-on learning. After students have explored composing and decomposing numbers with real manipulatives, Boom Cards provide meaningful practice in a digital format. Boom Cards are an ideal tool for the practice stage because students continue manipulating objects while receiving immediate feedback.
