Description: Bundle contains six decks for pragmatic speech practice and social emotional learning in different situations. The first deck has phrases that can occur in a variety of school or home settings. This bundle also includes decks specific to the Thanksgiving holiday, Christmas, birthday parties, travel/family vacations, and school field trips. Students identify whether each thought is okay to think (but keep in your head) or to say (out loud to others). By recognizing which thoughts can and should be said aloud, students gain confidence in their ability to make and keep friends in school and other social gatherings, work in groups, and interact appropriately with teachers and peers. Deck includes 30 cards. This resource can be used as a discussion starter. Have students talk about why some things are appropriate to say out loud, and why some things, while okay to think, are better left unsaid. Some cards, even though there is a "correct" answer, are somewhat open-ended, and the "correct" answer may be different depending on the setting. (For example, even kind words might not be acceptable to blurt out during class.) Students may wish to explore this in a group discussion.
