Description: This bundle includes 2 interesting and engaging decks that will teach your students about the Pilgrims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving and the Mayflower ship that they traveled on to get to America. While completing the Pilgrims hunt students will learn why they are called Pilgrims, how their original plan to come to America changed, why they got along so well with the Native Americans, and more. Then, in the Mayflower hunt students will learn why the ship was crowded, how the ship got its name, how its design made it a good ship to travel in, but may have also made their trip to America longer than planned, and more. In each hunt students answer 16-17 multiple-choice questions. First, students read a question and its possible answers. Then they read information that will help them answer it. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can revisit the information to find the correct one At the end of each hunt, the students are challenged to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. These hunts can be used as Thanksgiving activities, to supplement a study of the colonization of America, as background information for stories, for social studies or reading centers, to practice reading informational text, or as ease activities for a sub.
