Description: This bundle includes 2 decks of cards that cover the history behind several common Christmas traditions. While completing the Christmas Traditions Hunt #1, students will learn who created the first advent calendar with doors, why bells are popular Christmas decorations, how red and green came to be thought of as the colors of Christmas, and more. Then, in the Christmas Traditions Hunt #2 students will learn who introduced Santa Claus to America, when Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer appeared, what bird was replaced by a partridge in The Twelve Days of Christmas, and more. To complete a hunt, students read a question and several possible answers. Then they read a short passage to find the answer to the question. The final card in each deck requires students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt.
