Description: This bundle contains a total of 6 decks, each with 25 cards, with a minimum of 21 opportunities to practice the selected vocalic /r/ sound in one play. Are you targeting all of your vocalic r's in one category? Research shows that using a phonemic approach to /r/ remediation helps students progress. Choose the vocalic /r/ they are most stimulable to and stick with it! The following decks are included: 1. Vocalic "er", 2. Vocalic "ar", 3. Vocalic "or", 4. Vocalic "ear," 5. Vocalic "ire," 6. Vocalic "air." Each practice card contains: *a picture, *the written word in red, *a "hear it" (ear) button to push to hear the spoken word (optional), *a thumbs up button-push if word articulated correctly, *a thumbs down button-push if word was not articulated correctly and the student can try again. The deck also provides a slide showing a set of mouth pictures depicting how each vocalic /r/ sound is produced in the mouth in two oral movements. These visuals make it them great for assigning as homework. You can structure your sessions to have the student say the word at the word, phrase or sentence level. The SLP can identify the word as articulated correctly or you can have the student self-monitor and determine if their production was correct or not. When the word is not said correctly, the SLP provides cues or directs the student to press the ear to hear the word again. Then the student can try again.
