Description: This MEGA BUNDLE includes all of my Area Model Task Cards for Division. These task cards were designed to scaffold students’ learning and understanding of using the area model for dividing whole numbers. This Boom Bundle contains 8 decks with 20 problems each. One set provides students with the first partial quotient and the other does not. {Note: Division problems are identical on 4 of the sets. The two versions allow you to differentiate as you either give students more challenge or more scaffolding.} Levels Include: dividing whole numbers in the hundreds place by 1 digit divisor dividing whole numbers in the hundreds place by a 2 digit divisor dividing whole numbers in the thousands place by a 1 digit divisor dividing whole numbers in the thousands place by a 2 digit divisor While teaching the area model method to divide 3 digit and 4 digit dividends, I noticed commonalities among my students who struggled with dividing whole numbers with this method: 1) Students have a hard time deciding which initial number to subtract from the dividend; 2) Students struggle to understand what number needs to be placed above the rectangle/box (the other factor or the partial quotient) To help students better understand the area model, I designed these Area Model task cards where I have done the first step by giving students a multiple that can be subtracted from the dividend.
