Description: This terrific bundle lets students enjoy reading Five Little Pumpkins and retelling it with a drag and drop game. (Students can work as partners to retell the story too.) This was originally made for E.S.O.L. (or ELL) students. They enjoyed the rhyming text and related pictures, so they were easily able to gather new vocabulary from this text. This was the sequence I used: 1. read the text to the them, 2. reviewed the words and images, 3. read and the students repeated, 4. the students read the text to me, 5. we talked about the text (as much as possible), 6. we created sentences (orally) with various, related vocabulary, 6. the students reread the text on their own. Please note: the students were allowed to read the text on their own from the beginning, but some students choose to wait to the end while others read and reread it after each step above. Most choose to read it after each step. ;) 7. We read the story with a different background and discussed the difference of the illustrations thereafter. We talked about how they help, which illustrations were better and why, which is their favorite, etc. Copyright 2022 Tiffany Brodsky. All rights are reserved.
