Description: This is a simple past tense activity for the very “TO BE” and/or copula verb WAS/WERE. It addresses noun verb agreement with this form. DECK 1 will teach your students to use it when discussing items/animals. I scaffold the cards from simple phrases to more difficult sentences to aid in mastery.Your students will receive a 55 card deck with 45 multiple choice prompts, 34 Fill in the blank prompts and 28 open ended prompts to help you gauge efficacy. This is Part 2 for a simple past tense activity for the very “TO BE” and/or copula verb WAS/WERE which addresses the noun verb agreement for this form when used with People/Subjects. Like deck One, I scaffold the cards from simple phrases to more difficult sentences to aid in mastery for when your students are talking about people. Your students will receive a HUGE 87 card deck with 51 multiple choice The cards work well with any students grades 6-10 or best when used with students who have mild cognitive delays yet basic language skills. An independent lesson will take about 20 minutes however if you are using it as a teaching tool during instruction the lesson can easily fill 45 minutes with breaks in between for group discussion. When I use this lesson with my Speech classroom it takes (45 minutes).
