Description: Welcome to Cosby's Learning Lab! These activities were created by Carneisha Cosby, owner and publisher of Cosby's Learning Lab. This differentiated vocabulary bundle is designed to help students strengthen their vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical thinking skills by using context clues to determine the meanings of unfamiliar words in authentic reading passages. As students analyze text, they build strategies that support success across academic subjects and everyday life. This bundle includes two differentiated levels to meet the needs of a variety of learners: ⭐ Tier 1 – Beginning Vocabulary Students use simple context clues to determine the meanings of unfamiliar words while building foundational vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. ⭐⭐ Tier 2 – Advanced Vocabulary Students apply more advanced context clue strategies and critical thinking skills to determine the meanings of challenging vocabulary words found in more complex passages. Although these activities were created with high school special education students in mind, they are appropriate for students in grades 7–12 or any learner who would benefit from this level of instruction. They are ideal for special education classrooms, intervention, resource settings, transition programs, homeschooling, and general education students who need additional vocabulary support. These engaging, differentiated activities help students expand their academic vocabulary, and strengthen the reading skills.
