Description: One Long U deck from a series of 75 second grade phonic/spelling decks. The series is designed scope and sequential covering all the words on the National Vocabulary Word List for second grade. The decks can be used individually or as a whole. In each deck words are introduced with a picture and an audio of each word, and its use in a sentence. Several cards practice matching word/audio to picture. Then students practice spelling words. Decks also include word sorting, rhyming, beginning-middle-end sounds, and other word work skills. Perfect for second language learners. The aim of these decks is not to have the students remember how to spell all twelve words, but rather to understand the words meaning, attach a picture to the word, and recognize spelling patterns and rules.
