About me: <p>For over 30 years, I have been teaching students on the autism spectrum disorders. I employ the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to develop strategies that focus on independence, generalization, and maintenance. These strategies help students stay on task and perform quality independent work. One of my favorite tools is the Activity Schedule. This visual aid is an excellent means of helping students learn to follow a schedule and stay on task.</p> <p>Purpose of Activity Schedules <br /> To increase on-task behavior <br /> To decrease inappropriate behaviors <br />  To facilitate smooth transitions from one activity to the next  <br /> To enhance acquisition of new skills  <br /> To increase independence <br /> To promote self-management </p> <p><br /> Some of the uses for activity schedules <br /> Daily living skills – dressing, toileting,<br /> handwashing<br /> Daily schedules – for home and school<br /> * Play skills – to increase independent playne of my favorite tools from a teacher's toolbox would be an Activity Schedule.</p> <p> I hope my decks will be helpful.         </p>
