About me:
I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2006. I work at School District #23 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. I have a special interest in oral language and literacy development. I marvel at the many oral language comprehension and word recognition skills that are required for skilled reading and they are depicted so well with infographics such as the Scarborough's Reading Rope.

I also love using the Story Grammar Marker® approach in my therapy sessions because it has been a tool to expand my students' oral language comprehension, oral expression, reading comprehension, and writing. I created Story Grammar Marker® BOOM™ digital stories because I wanted to have a user-friendly collection of go-to stories differentiated at each stage of narrative development that were easily accessible to SLPs, reading specialists, classroom teachers, teacher assistants, parents, and other professionals that could be used with individuals, groups, and classes in all tiers of instruction.

In 2016, I started collaborating with Mary-Ellen Rooney Moreau (the creator of the Story Grammar Marker®) and Sheila Moreau from Mindwing Concepts, Inc. Since then, I've completed a double certification through their training programs. I am licensed to use the Story Grammar Marker® copyrighted icons in this companion tool. This tool is meant to be used as a companion, and it is recommended that the Story Grammar Marker® (i.e. story braid) and the approach be used alongside.
