About me: I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2006. I work at School District #23 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. I love learning about the interconnectedness of oral language comprehension and literacy, and I use the Scarborough's Reading Rope as my guide: https://dyslexiaida.org/event/a-20th-year-celebration-of-scarboroughs-reading-rope/. I also love using the Story Grammar Marker ® approach (www.mindwingconcepts.com) in my therapy sessions and have enjoyed creating digital stories in order to highlight story grammar elements explicitly for my students. I am passionate about creating materials that make language explicit. In 2016, I started collaborating with Mary-Ellen Rooney Moreau (the creator of the Story Grammar Marker ®) and Sheila Moreau from Mindwing Concepts, Inc. Since then, I've completed a double certification through their training programs. I am licensed to use the Story Grammar Marker ® copyrighted icons in this companion tool. This tool is used as a companion, and it is recommended that the Story Grammar Marker ® (i.e. story braid) and the approach be used alongside.
