About me: My name is Patricia Rakovic, MA, CCC/CGS, and I am delighted to celebrate 45 years as a Speech and Language Pathologist. I am a Lifetime member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and hold CGS certifications in Autism Leadership and Dyslexia. I am honored to be named the 2024 Teacher of the Year at Frenchtown School, a recognition that reflects my commitment to collaborative education with classroom teachers. My professional journey includes extensive experience in higher education, where I have taught courses, led seminars and workshops, and supervised graduate students. I am licensed for life in speech and language pathology and am a certified special education director. Additionally, I have a Rhode Island Department endorsement in the Science of Reading and Dyslexia. I am passionate about continuing my education and finding innovative ways to engage my students. Many of the educational decks I create are inspired by the challenges faced by my students, aiming to transform these challenges into opportunities for learning and growth.
