About me: <p><strong>Teen-Friendly Speech & Language Therapy Materials</strong></p><p>Hello fellow educators! I'm Alicia, the publisher behind SLP Collection: Secondary Resources. As a <strong>licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, I bring eight years of combined K-12 education experience</strong> to every resource I create. My journey began as a Special Education Paraprofessional and SLP Assistant, where I spent three years working directly with students with a wide range of communication needs and gained a hands-on understanding of what truly engages learners and supports meaningful progress. Prior to becoming a home health therapist, I spent 5 years as a school-based SLP across all K-12 grade levels, with a particular passion for working with secondary students.</p><p><strong>Middle and high school students </strong>present unique challenges in speech-language therapy sessions. They <strong>need materials that respect their age, hold their attention, and target skills that matter </strong>for real-world communication, academic success, and post-secondary readiness. Too often, therapy materials are designed for younger children, leaving secondary SLPs to adapt elementary-level content or create resources from scratch. That gap is exactly why I started designing Boom Decks.</p><p><strong>Every deck I create is built specifically for secondary students</strong>: age-appropriate visuals and themes, teen-relevant vocabulary and scenarios, and activities that target the skills secondary students need most. My goal is to save fellow SLPs time and increase progress by providing therapy materials for older students <strong>that feel relevant, respectful, and engaging.</strong></p><p>Thank you for supporting a fellow SLP.
