JK Special Education

About me: Anna van Roekel from JK Special Education is graduated in 2008 as Occupational therapist. She worked as OT in several Health Care facilities before she switched her career and got into the field of education. It has always been her passion to work with children and help them to take another step in their personal development. Anna earned her Montessori Teacher certificate for the 3-6 year old classroom in 2012 and has been working in special education ever since. As a Special Ed. Teacher she can combine her two biggest passions in life: education & the development of children. Her love for hands-on activities and play-based learning make her resources engaging and fun for students. Anna homeschools her three children, who have special needs. Her kids have a mixture of ASD/ADHD, Down Syndrome and visual impairments. Knowing what her children need to be able to learn certain skill inspires Anna to create adapted lessons and activities to suit their needs. The ease of technology and digital games has been a life saver for Anna as homeschooler. As her days are filled with tasks and responsibilitie, she can easily assign Boom Cards to her children. They enjoy the decks and are able to work independently. So creating fun decks and using them for her own children is a win-win for Anna!
