About me: Hey, teacher friends! My name is Bethany and I have been teaching first grade for 15 years. I love helping little learners grow and progress throughout the school year and I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else. Creating interactive, engaging, and meaningful K-2 educational resources is my absolute passion and I sincerely hope that you find something here that can be useful to you and fun for your little learners! In addition to 15 years of first grade teaching experience I have undergone extensive training in the realm of the Science of Reading. My LETRS training instilled in me a passion for informed, systematic, explicit instruction that yields results and meets the needs of many different learners. I love to research educational theories and then put them into practice in my classroom. While there is sometimes a disconnect between theory and actual everyday instructional practice, I strive to find the balance between the two to make sure that students and teachers have what they need and that our daily systems are not only effective, but also sustainable. I recently completed a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My final capstone research revolved around the development of reading fluency in early literacy. My products and decks are meant to empower you as educators to meet the curriculum objectives and instructional goals that will best help your students. When I am not working on Boom Cards or TPT you can find me in Utah reading, hiking, watching period dramas, or just hanging out with my friends and family.
