About me: <p>Mrs. Shafer established Wonderwise Learning to support students beyond her own classroom. Wonderwise Learning activities incorporate intentional scaffolding, sleek design, and gradual release strategies to support students through higher stages of critical thinking. By the end of every activity, students should be able to identify gaps within their understanding, and feel proud of what they've accomplished!</p><p>Mrs. Shafer is a Life Science 7-12 Teacher based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in Texas. Since 2017, Mrs. Shafer has taught Biology, Honors Biology, Environmental Systems, and AP Environmental Science. Many of her students have been considered at-risk, limited English proficient, and/or emergent bilingual. She is currently employed at an early college high school, and actively uses strategies to prepare students for advanced placement and college courses.</p>
