I taught as a class teacher in Nursery, Primary, Special Educational Needs Schools and Language Units for children with language disorders. I then became a peripatetic EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher in Nursery Primary and Secondary Schools, providing direct teaching of EAL pupils and advice to mainstream staff on appropriate strategies. As an EAL teacher, I also produced resources for use with EAL pupils of all age groups and at beginner, emergent and consolidating stages of acquiring English.
