About me: <p>Chantel Touryan-Schaefer was a first-grade classroom teacher for 14 years before following her passion for reading instruction to become a Reading Specialist. Chantel is a credentialed Reading Specialist, Certified Dyslexia Advocate, and is working toward her CALT certification. She is also Associate Director of the Chartwell Teaching Institute at Chartwell school, training classroom teachers in structured literacy. She continues to support burgeoning readers as the Early Literacy Coordinator for a network of three public charter schools.  </p> <p>Dave Sindrey was trained as a Speech-Language Pathologist and worked for many years in both Canada and Mexico coaching both professionals and families of children with permanent hearing loss. He is the author and illustrator of many activities for speech and language development, including Listening Games for Littles, the Cochlear Implant Auditory Training Guide, Troll in a Bowl games, and many activities in Advanced Bionics The ListeningRoom, He now lives in Canada and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Hearing Science at Western University.</p>
