Description: Pre-Verbal Skills: Joint Attention, Pointing, Giving, Understanding basic words. Late-Talkers will not talk without Pre-Linguistic Skills! This deck works on pre-verbal skills while working on food, animals, and toys. Language development tasks for minimally/ non-verbal children. Full Audio is provided in this deck, click the speakers to listen. TOUCH & GIVE: Listen to simple directions "Touch" or "Give" (20 Items) RECEPTIVE: Touch a picture that goes with a spoken word in a field of three pictures, food, animals, and toys. (10 of each) WHAT'S MISSING: See six objects on a slide and then I hide one of them on the next slide, Can you tell what is missing? Works on object permanence (another pre-verbal skill) in a fun simplistic game as well as pushing a button to talk, AAC I SPY: Look for the named item in a field of 18 mixed up food, animals, toys. Take turns to work on joint attention and turn taking (two more pre-verbal skills!) SORT THE ITEMS: This is the highest skill in the deck and works on receptive understanding of "go-together" or categories. Goal examples this deck will target: 1. Child will increase receptive pre-kindergarten vocabulary by giving and pointing pictures that match spoken words. 2. Child will follow familiar routine one-step directions. 3. Child will increase the pre-verbal skill of joint attention to task by appropriately looking at the pictures, looking back at the therapist, and back to object. (Take turns to do this goal).
