Description: Semantic Feature Analysis (SFA) is an evidence-based treatment approach used to improve word-finding abilities. This technique helps individuals retrieve words by strengthening semantic connections through structured cueing. SFA is often used for people with aphasia or anomia. By activating multiple related concepts, SFA strengthens the brain’s ability to access and retrieve words. Even if the target word isn’t immediately recalled, engaging in the process improves generalized word retrieval skills, making it easier to find words in everyday conversation. This deck includes 10 slides of complex target words and cued key features to describe each one (physical properties, action, location, function, category, and association). There are also two blank slides at the end to fill in with words that are relevant and specific to the patient or client.
