Description: Students are presented with 2 dishes of incomplete Nachos that they must complete. However the only way to know which toppings need to be used, they will have to show their knowledge of Contractions. Each ingredient has a word... which is a possible answer. There are 7 toppings but only 4 are needed on each slide. (Jalapenos, diced tomato, guacamole, olives, ground meat, extra cheese, and sour cream.) Each Nacho plate has a Contraction word on it. Students drag the correct ingredients to the nachos. They are demonstrating their understanding of which 2 words were combined to make the displayed contraction. Students will work with 40 examples of contractions. (no repeats). Now, after looking at the 20 slides of Nachos, your student might be a little "hungry" so card 21 is a free play card, where the student can build their own nachos!
