Description: Use this fun minimal pairs game to practice discrimination and production of liquid sounds /r/ and /l/ with students who exhibit gliding! Features a fun "food buddies" theme of go-together food pairs that is great to use for sessions all year round! Game Instructions: 1.) Choose who will be the talker, and who will be the guesser. 2.) The guesser closes their eyes. 3.) The talker puts the object from the “Hide me” box underneath either picture on the left or the right. 4.) The guesser opens their eyes. 5.) The talker tells the guesser where the object is using the target word (eg. “The marshmallow is under 'ring.'”) 6.) The guesser decides which word the talker said and drags the picture with that word upwards to see if the “Hide me” object is underneath. 7.) Repeat for more practice! To work on discrimination, have your student be the guesser. For production, your student will be the talker! Target words include pictures for younger students/beginning readers. Also includes 3 open ended cards where you can type your own minimal pairs Cards 1-3: Menu/Instructions Cards 4-13: Minimal Pair Cards for R (r/w minimal pairs-- initial position) Cards 14-23: Minimal Pair Cards for L (l/w and l/y minimal pairs-- initial position) Cards 24-26: Open Ended Cards
